Studio Ghibli stop producing films!

The rumored for months. And now it's official, Studio Ghibli stops the production of animated films. Toshio Suzuki, co-founder of Ghibli, who announced on TBS that the legendary Japanese animation studio was quitting his business feature filmsOmoide No Marnie, released on July 19 in Japan, will be the last studio film on the big screen.

The studio did not end his life: a small team will be dedicated to manage the legacy of Hayao Miyazaki movies, who announced his retirement. And Momonoma section of the studio, composed entirely of freelance artists and dedicated to commercials and music videos, is still active.

The studio was threatened by the high cost of production of his films, yet integrally formed on Japanese soil. If The Wind Rises was a big success in Japan, The Tale of Princess Kaguya Isao Takahata was expensive and was a costly failure in theaters.

After thirty years in producing masterpieces: Castle in the sky My Neighbor Totoro, Princess Mononoke, Grave of the Fireflies through Spirited Away remains the most successful film of all time in Japan, the end of Ghibli is an important moment in the history of cinema in Japan.
