Ramen

Very popular in Japan, ramen is a noodle dish served in a broth (fish, vegetable or meat) accompanied by various additional ingredients.

The history of ramen has its roots in China, the birthplace of the noodle. In Japan, the noodle is much more recent; Japanese mainly eating rice for centuries, and have adopted the Chinese idea in the Middle Ages.
As for its preparation, it is simple: noodles wheat flour which is immersed in a broth of meat or fish flavored with soy sauce or miso.

There are many variations around the ramen.
So, there are a multitude of choices of toppings and there is for all tastes: with fish, cabbage, seaweed, eggs, soy, onions, ginger, mushrooms ... The list is long . You just have to make your choice.

Broths:
  • Shoyu ramen (Ramen with a broth of soy sauce) 
  • Tonkotsu ramen (Ramen with pork bone broth) 
  • Shio ramen (Ramen broth with salt) 
  • Miso ramen (Ramen with miso broth)

The Yatai, ramen restaurants are often open late, and some consider a good nomikai (meeting drinking) must end with a big bowl of ramen before returning home.

What's great with ramen is that it is a complete meal, balanced and inexpensive and of course super good! 
So we have no reason not to try!
